Bio
With over 20 years experience in the screen industry, I enjoy working as a DOP/Camera Operator and Inspire 3 Drone operator on documentary and commercial projects for TV, cinema and online content. I am calm, capable and collaborative. I am comfortable in a range of shooting styles, with a variety of people, cultures and creatures, in all sorts of situations: from industrial to wilderness, in big or small teams. I often work as producer/director/shooter on smaller projects. I’m based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington Aotearoa/New Zealand, but regularly work throughout the country and overseas.
I have experience with a range of cameras and equipment in-studio and on-location. A self-confessed 'gearhead', and consummate problem solver, I come equipped with plenty of personal kit, including Sony FX6 and the INSPIRE 3 - 8K Cine Drone to capture imagery in all sorts of situations. Work history:
As Head of Media Production at Wētā Workshop I worked on many major international projects 2008-2018. As Creative Producer I collaborated with various film and TV studio’s production and promotional teams so that my crew could provide support with various creative, technical imaging and EPK services. I spent many hours on-camera, shooting tests, capturing documentary footage and production stills for major films, and content directly for TV, documentary and exhibition. (see below).
Since moving on from Wētā, I have broadened my experience by shooting on shorts, documentary, commercials, film, TV and online projects that align with my values. I continue to create EPK behind the scenes documentary content for major films using my expertise to help filmmakers promote their project. In addition, I now enjoy a wide range of opportunities within conservation, arts, cultural and community projects. (See the list below for details).
