Hailing from Ōtautahi Christchurch, Liv McClymont is a rising New Zealand director and writer, known for bold, empathetic storytelling that leaves a lasting impact. Her work spans documentary, drama and commercial worlds, blending heart, humour, and cinematic precision to explore the chaos of human connection.

Liv's teen comedy, The Sender - a 17-part vertical series made specifically for TikTok and Instagram - reimagines storytelling for social media. Supported by Netsafe and funded by NZOA, the series harnesses sharp satire and high-gloss style to tackle themes of image-based abuse and digital identity for rangatahi. The series recently won Best International Series at Bilbao Seriesland.

Liv's documentary The Man Outside was instrumental in driving stalking law reform in Aotearoa, while her debut doco I Stand For Consent garnered nationwide support for consent education.

Her recent work includes a high-profile Qantas campaign, Just The Two Of Us, which was celebrated for its emotionally resonant storytelling, and a 2degrees campaign, NOtifications, which explores teen device use and safety. Liv received the Emerging Directorial Talent award at the 2026 Axis Awards.

Liv has been recognised by Loading Docs, Day One and Isofest as one of New Zealand's most exciting directorial talents to watch, and has recently been selected for both Script to Screen's 2026 FilmUp Feature Mentorship Programme and the 2026 Show Me Shorts Filmmaker Lab.
