Bio

Born and bred on the Canterbury plains, Laura is a salt of the earth character. She connects with people effortlessly, creating a non-intimidating production environment for talent, crew, and clients.

Laura has a Bachelor of Fine Arts and, in association with NHNZ, she completed a Master of Natural History Filmmaking at Otago University in 2013.

First and foremost, Laura is a storyteller, passionate about sparking conversation, challenging the norm, and encouraging positive change. Her work demonstrates emotional, thoughtfully-crafted storytelling — even with the most sensitive of topics.

Recently, Laura’s drive to create meaningful content led to her directing a historical conversation between Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and former Prime Minister Helen Clark for UN Women Aotearoa. Laura brought the two world leaders together for a frank and honest conversation about gender equality in celebration of 125 years of women’s Suffrage.

Now based in Auckland, Laura has directed commercial content for both New Zealand and international clients and is currently developing her first feature documentary.
