Hamish is an authentic storyteller and facilitator, creating environments where people feel safe and respected to share their own stories in front of a camera. With a natural ability to put people at ease, Hamish has become a trusted interviewer to direct and film numerous stories across Aotearoa. He has invested a lot of time building trust and understanding his responsibilities to become a faithful kaitiaki of another’s kōrero.

Since 2012, Hamish has enjoyed extensive experience as a senior editor, cinematographer/camera op, drone pilot and director. From the outset he made a commitment to engage in ethical storytelling. Letting the truth speak for itself instead of crafting his own version to sensationalise or push a predetermined story angle. This approach has seen him work in documentary, commercial and music videos, short films, around the world. He has a keen interest in science and environmental documentaries and had many adventures around the world to document important scientific research on land and underwater. He has spent the last few years, at the helm of Frank Productions, curating stories that provide opportunities for organisations to reach their audiences.

Hamish has an extensive gear list including a Sony FX6 cinema camera setup with prime and zoom lenses, DJI Mavic 3 Pro drone, and a full lighting/grip package. Hamish is comfortable working as a one-person crew (OPC) as well as within larger crews and is also able to supply a multi-crew team if required.

Have has worked with brands such as the All Blacks, NZ Police, FENZ, Amazon AWS, Marae (TVNZ+), FIFA, Legendary Entertainment, WellingtonNZ, World Meteorological Organisation, Fat Freddys Drop, Spark, NIWA, FMG, Rabobank MPI, and many others.
