Bio

FRANCESCA CARNEY has worked in film, television, theatre for the past 20 years. Her most recent credits include roles on NZFC funded feature films DOX, COUSINS, POPPY, GOING, GOING, and feature documentaries THE SUBTLE ART OF NOT GIVING A FU*K and BILLION DOLLAR HEIST.

In 2015 Francesca worked within the Talent Development team at the New Zealand Film Commission heavily involved in the Fresh Shorts funding and short film development labs. During this time, she became part of the core working group to develop the NZFC’s Te Rautaki (Māori Strategy) and subsequent funding initiatives.

Francesca has collaborated on numerous short film and theatre projects including Producing the award-winning Fringe radio series OUT OF BOUND SOUNDS. Most recently she has produced the bilingual short film SONG FOR SERBIA with Writer/Director Rouzie Hassnova which screened at the Show Me Shorts Film Festival 2021. She also recently received NZFC Fresh Shorts funding for short film AVE MARIE.

Francesca is currently working as a location scout in the wider Wellington region
